"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill Hey everyone! Hope your Monday with kids at home and you attempting to work went well. Here are some new ideas for this so far sunny day! Activity #1 - Make Breakfast - Oatmeal We haven't learned how to make oatmeal yet. Scroll down this blog  https://fitfoodiefinds.com/the-50-best-oatmeal-recipes-on-the-planet/  until you come to the recipe and try it out. The recipe is banana and cinnamon flavoured. You can always change up the fruit so that it is something you like or something you have available in your house.  Happy cooking and cleaning! Activity #2 - Journal - Focus on Your Quarantine Life Watch this YouTube video about Anne Frank.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ond6r5pafjw Anne Frank's diary helps us better understand the life of a Jewish family during World War II. "Happiness isn't something that depends on our surroundings...it's something we make inside ourselves." - Corrie Ten Boom Hello friends! I hope you had a fun and rejuvenating weekend of isolation with your families.   Activity #1 - Make Breakfast - Avocado Toast This is one of my favourite breakfasts - avocado toast! It is really easy to make. Here is a recipe that you can use to try making some for yourself:  https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/avocado-toasts-3364588 I like to make mine a bit more fancy and add a sunny side up, runny yolk egg on top. It's so good! Remember to wash your avocado and clean up the kitchen when you are finished. Activity #2 - Journaling - Character and Leadership Focus Get out your home learning journal and a pencil. Find a device to stream a half hour long YouTube video.  Many years ago there was a famous explorer named Sir Ernest Shackleton. He took a crew of men on

"What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family." - Mother Theresa Happy weekend everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and spending lots of time making memories with your families. I need a rest from creating distance education for my class and blog posts, so this post will be my one weekend update with some fun entertainment ideas for you and your family. Enjoy! Puppet Show Have your kids write a script on a topic of their choice. Then pull out some old socks or paper bags and create puppets of each of the characters.  Once you have characters, design a set and have them perform a puppet show. Record it and send it to family members or Zoom them in to be a live audience!  Create a Family Band/Make a Music Video Pull out your instruments and learn how to play a song together. If it has words to sing, even better! Singing has a lot of heath benefits. Check out these articles:  https://www.lifehack.org/

"And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow." - Gilbert K. Chesterton Happy Friday! Hope you are all doing well on this last day of the work week. According to my weather app, when you read this it will probably be raining. Hopefully you find some time to go outside and enjoy the rain with your family. Perhaps walk through (or jump in) a puddle or two. I love rain. It makes me feel calm and relaxed - especially after I go for a run in it and come back to a warm and dry home. Thanks for reading my ideas below! Activity #1 - Pimento, Cheese and Ham Scramble with Toast Learn how to make some delicious scrambled eggs today. Here is a simple recipe you could try:  https://www.womansday.com/food-recipes/food-drinks/recipes/a13142/pimiento-cheese-ham-scramble-recipe-wdy0514/ I would probably substitute a regular red pepper in place of the roasted red pepper.  Toast up some bread and have som
